I applied online. I interviewed at Spotify (Stockholm, Stockholm) in Nov 2018
Interview
Hiring process was a really a good experience - process, communication and interviews are really pleasant and I never felt uncomfortable. Trip arrangement to Stockholm was also executed flawlessly, and even they rescheduled one because of my private issue - really appreciated.
The only unnecessary thing were two culture fit interviews that could be easily merged into one.
Interviews:
- Standard HR
- First technical -> Quick/simple Android questions followed by computer science basics. 30min live Android coding test and then reviewing buggy/badly written Android code.
- Culture Fit -> Behavioral questions
- On-Site System design -> Much better version of 'Whiteboard Algorithm' interviews where you discuss real-world features and create your optimal system
- On-Site Culture Fit -> Same as previous one, but with different people
- On-Site Show&Tell -> You present you personal project, explain architecture and most importantly make sure you write tests.
informative, easy going, questions mainly asked about previous experience, relatively easy coding question you might encounter during day to day role for mid level role. recruiters were responsive. can't provide details on onsite interview process.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Spotify (New York, NY) in May 2025
Interview
Technical Screen was straightforward / easy
Onsite round included a behavioral, a system design, a ds & algorithms, and IDE interviews. IDE interview involved building an android app from scratch, would recommend preparing building views if the role is front end or full stack
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
ds and algorithms question during the onsite was a variation of a challenging Combination Sum problem:
Given a collection of candidate numbers (candidates) and a target number (target), find all unique combinations in candidates where the candidate numbers sum to target.
Each number in candidates may only be used once in the combination.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Spotify (Stockholm, Stockholm)
Interview
I applied through their official website, then I had my first interview with HR with some normal questions about my background, why I'm interested in the company, etc. (30 min)
After this interview I was invited to a second interview (2h) with two engineers. This interview was separated into four different section.
1) General questions about computer science and algorithm
2) Some Android specific questions
3) Live coding challenge when they asked me to share my screen and develop a simple android app
4) code review, where I asked to review a code and comments on it, the code they presented had many flows BTW.
After this interview I was invited to their office in Stockholm for 3 other interviews 1h each.
1) A system design interview where I had to design an Android app on whiteboard and talk about architecture and other things related specifically to Android. The interview was challenging in a sense that the interviewers change the problem few times after I was done with it and I had to address their new concerns as well.
2) Code presentation interview where I was asked to present a code that I was proud of and answer interviews questions about my code.
3) Values interview, very similar to the first interview with some questions about my background, etc.
I also had a lunch with few engineers and had a talk with them for 1h.
After few days I was invited to a feedback meeting with HR and they gave me an offer witch I accepted.
One thing that I want to mention is that interview questions were deep and relevant to the role I applied and answering many of them required hands on experience with latest trends in Android development as well as computer science. HR feedbacks where always great and they keep you in the loop.
