I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Spotify (London, England)
Interview
1. Interview with internal recruiter
2. Interview with department lead
3. 2 interviews with department members back to back
Had to chase on responses to recruiter in charge of the process to get a response after all of the interviews. Received an email saying that they had chosen not to move forward with me, no feedback as to why was provided.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
All interviewers asked questions from a selection they had been giving, so there were a lot of overlaps and answering the same things, some examples are:
What are 3 things you hope to achieve this year
Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult situation
Tell me about a time you made a mistake and fixed it
4 rounds process, incl. take-home case. Interviews were relatively straightforward with HR, Hiring manager, and Directors in the team. Mix of behavioral and technical questions. Take-home case was quite time consuming but very relevant for the role (recieve data set with a case question - expected to build a financial model and short presentation deck)
Interview was with HR. A very unpleasant experience: 1) The Interviewer was late and no apology was given. 2) No pleasantries or how are you, just straight into the robotic questioning. 3) HR said that if I had any questions I should email, I had to ask if I could ask questions during the call. Worst interview experience I have had. The HR interviewer shouldn't be vetting candidates as it gives a bad impression of Spotify.
Interview was okay, interviewers were patient and friendly and they took the effort to learn more about the candidate by asking the right questions. Not many stressful questions were asked.
