I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Staples (Harrisburg, PA) in Jul 2012
Interview
I applied online on the Staples website. I received a call within two weeks to interview with the manager at Staples. It was my first interview ever, so I was really nervous. The interviewer asked general questions like tell me about yourself, explain a bad situation you were in and how you handled it, how would you describe customer service, what are your plans for future, tell me about a time you went out your way to help someone..etc. I was asked to come another time to interview with another manager. I did. He was very friendly, and I was calm the second time around. We talked for a long time, he asked the same questions. Then, he asked when would I like to start. I told him anytime. Pretty much, they're looking for someone who is flexible with their schedule and can be friendly, calm.
Twelve rounds with a required dance number and an audience-provided question and answer period. Spelling test provided at the end of the process to final round candidates if successful at interview.
Easy , straightforward , conversational . Didn’t ask any questions out of the ordinary. Asked about cashier process and systems, methodology etc. Met with a few ppl at different levels
