      Senior Analyst Interview

      Nov 10, 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Framingham, MA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Staples (Framingham, MA) in Jun 2012

      Interview

I initially applied online back in late May 2012. A week later I was contacted via email by an HR rep and we scheduled an hour to talk over the phone. The phone interview was not difficult, as there were basic behavioral and experience questions. Basically they are looking to see if you are really qualified and if you "really" are interested in the job. I was then given a date to have an in -person interview at the home office with the hiring manager and another manager in the same group. That whole process took one hour, which I felt was really not enough time. The hiring manager spent most of the 30 minutes talking about the job and did not really ask me much about my background or what I thought, though he was extremely informative. the second manager asked more behavioral questions and questions geared around seeing why I was leaving my current job. I was called back the following week to meet with the Director of the department. This was the hardest part of the whole process, as she really dug into what I had done in my current and prior jobs, as well as how they could relate to this job. We talked a lot about the department and where it was heading, as well as what they were hoping to accomplish for the next few years. I was made an offer two days later, and after a couple back and forths I accepted their offer.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The hardest part was when the director asked me specific questions regarding responsibilities from prior jobs on the resume. It took me a second to remember the specific projects I was referencing, but I was able to.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Staples (Boston, MA) in Oct 2023

      Interview

The interview process spanned over a month. After the final interview with Staples, I got an offer from another company. So, I told Staples recruiter to expedite the process. Unfortunately, they didn't speed up and I accepted the other company's offer. Staples's offer came 1 week after starting my new job. This company does not know how to recruit people. If you cannot make a decision after 1 month and 6 rounds of interviews, then you are doing something wrong. Also, Staples is a dying company, their revenue has been falling since 2012.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Hiring manager screen, 2 panel interviews, 1 SQL round, 1 final round with VP.
