I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Stats Perform (Chicago, IL) in Jul 2020
Interview
Applied online and heard back from a recruiter within a couple days about proceeding in the interview process.
Part 1: Cognitive test. In the recruiter email he did give some useful resources to help prepare for the test which were very helpful. It's not that the questions are hard, its that the time allowed is very limiting. So I strongly recommend using the resources given as it will help you realize how restricted you are on time. You have to be comfortable with skipping any question that you know you can figure out, but that will take more than 15-20 seconds. Only answer the ones you can quickly answer and guess on the others.
Part 2: Phone screen with recruiter. Unfortunately I cannot add much about the content of this, but only about my experience. Recruiter was supposed to call me. I waited for 20 minutes and then decided to try his phone. Unfortunately I only had his office # and given COVID everyone is working from home. I also followed up with an email ensuring everything was alright and make sure there was not a miscommunication as to the interview time. He quickly replied saying he called but it looks like he dialed the wrong number and asked to reschedule to Monday. No problem, mistakes happen. I quickly replied with my availability for Monday. I did not get a reply back all weekend, so Monday morning I sent a follow-up confirming my availability and asking what time he would be available to chat. No response. Multiple days passed and I still have not heard anything back.
I read all the negative experiences with the interviews with STATS and was hoping they were not accurate as I had very high hopes for this role. The job seemed amazing. I mean who wouldn't want to analyze sports all day! It is very disheartening to put time in to an interview, and due to the recruiters mistake, never even be given a shot. I prepared for several hours for just the cognitive exam, and then for the initial interview for another couple hours only to be ghosted.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Stats Perform (London, England) in Sep 2020
Interview
The interview was composed of several stages.
First was a cognitive test, then a chat with the recruiter, then an initial interview with the hiring manager, then an extended 2 week project, and a 90 minute+ technical interview following the project.
I really enjoyed the process in general, however I did not get the role. Thats fine by me, but I have been told several times I can expect feedback from my technical project and interview and they have just stopped replying to me. Its been a month since I had my technical interview now.
Having completed a project which basically took 2 full weeks to complete, and spend hours prepping for the other two interviews/tests, and then get a one line rejection with absolutely zero feedback is pretty poor form.
I understand everyone is busy but as someone looking to break into this career its really disheartening to put so much effort into a project and presentation (which seemed to go okay) within the technical interview and get literally nothing back.
Real shame this seems to be a continuous theme in this company and is no way to treat potential candidates. I would urge others not to waste your time.
