I applied online. I interviewed at StepStone Group
Interview
I got an email asking that as a first step, they would like me to take an assessment and I said yes. At this point there was no call or any other communication with anybody from stepstone. Later I got the assessment that was very time expensive, at least two days of full work. It was about building a code for an MVO with the stocks they had and adapt it to some constraints and make the report. At the end, you are supposed to send your entire code explained and report answering all the questions. I was expecting something within 30 min for a first assessment. They do give you a week to do it. I asked them that I would be happy to do it after having a first call with HR or someone from the team. They said no and that was the end of it. I didn’t do the assessment. So I don’t know what happens after that

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at StepStone Group (London, England) in Jun 2025
Interview
Process went very well. I connected to the last interview with the principal and the associate and nobody connected. 20 minutes later I recieved an email saying that the process was cancelled. After several interviews and calls that’s how they rejected me.
It was a typical finance interview. Had some technical questions in the first interview and then a model test. The conversation was easy and thought it was going to be harder.
