Took forever. Like 5 months. I eventually got interviewed in Sacramento. You bring a laptop and complete a pre-interview Pinterest board. You also write a letter to a client before going in for the panel interview. They also ask you to bring 2 copies of your resume, but when I brought them they said that they didn't need them because they pulled up my resume online. The entire thing is pretty easy if you're properly prepared to be honest.
However, I didn't get the job, which I am greatly surprised about because I have all the qualifications, and basically nailed the interview. The two people who interviewed me were very nice, and we hit it off pretty well. They asked a few questions about me and my experience. I asked them a few questions. I watched video, did a live styling session, and talked about my Pinterest board. The whole thing took about 40-45 minutes. So when I didn't get the job I was pretty shocked. I've done tons of retail jobs, I read plenty of style magazines, I've worked in costuming, design, and have a degree in art. I also don't have much going on in my life, which from what I've heard is really important to the people here. They want you to do this job and only this job it seems. I'm not sure what I didn't hit in their requirements. Maybe my live styling was awful or my Pinterest board was just not to their standards. They didn't really make any good or bad expressions during that part. The only part of the entire interview that I felt like "oh crap how do I answer this question?" is when the younger of the two interviewers asked me how I would style a dress (that was pretty awful in my opinion, but I kept this to myself) if she wanted to wear it to work and then to a bar. I thought about it for like 30 seconds and then answered it the best I could. They seemed happy with my answer too.
Overall, the job is pretty cushy so I'd recommend it to people who have lots of time on their hands to get through the whole process. I was pretty sure I was a shoo-in for this position, but when I didn't get it I felt like I had wasted so much time and energy. When I said earlier that the whole thing took 5 months, that was not an exaggeration. Some people say it only takes a couple of weeks, but I think that was back in the day when this company was newer. At the moment they basically string you along forever. I just waited because I'm on a break from the university.
Last note, it's pretty clique-y/sorority-esque in this company from what I've seen. So if that's not you, then you probably won't even pass the initial interview.
