Interview
You make a pinterest board for a hypothetical client. Once you arrive at the location of the interview early, you're then told to write a note to the person who would be receiving these items. Then, you are interviewed by two people who have you do a live style. Then they read the note you wrote and have you go through your Pinterest board and explain why you picked these items. I felt really great about my interview, the girls were very nice and for me it was relaxed. I will say that I was ONLY getting postitive, poked faced feedback and not actual feedback which I would have preferred. At the end of the interview I asked them if they had any concerns about my resume and they said not at all. I then ended up getting a mass email two days later explaining I did not get the position. I also noticed that amongst other applicants I was dressed in business casual, interview ready clothing and everyone else was showing up in ripped jeans, kimonos, and booties. I proceeded to write a follow up email to the email to just get some feedback from them as to why I didn't get the job/ what concerns they had/ interview tips and feedback. I got no email back a week later so I wrote another one and the response back was "we felt you were not a good fit. In my position I am unable to give you feedback on your interview." From what I gathered and read this place is looking for like minded stylists who all have a very preppy mindset and don't think out of the box. Also, i gathered that they treat hiring stylist like they are a dime a dozen. If you don't fit their box cutter mold of what a "stylist" should be, which is a stay at home mom with nothing else going on, you won't get hired.
The interview process was great! Very straightforward and they were both friendly and encouraging. I made sure to memorize how I would answer a number of their questions and that really helped.
Standard job interview with two managers and a more in depth styling activity discussing different body types and what clothing I would put on them if I had their Fix
