Interview
The process starts by having a phone screening with a recruiter followed by: phone interview with AM on the team, writing exercise, call with AM on the team to go over the exercise and then a 3 hour onsite interview meeting with different members of the team. It's a very organized process, but the onsite interview felt more like an interrogation than a 2 sided interview. Similarly to what another candidate said, you do not have any interaction with the manager until the onsite at the very end. I think this has the potential for bias, as you get very little time to actually prove yourself to management. You are asked to do some API troubleshooting followed by different exercises. Personally, I felt that half of the exercises were not relevant to the position. I found it all also difficult to get questions in. One of the interviewers was very combative and didn't let me get a word in without interrupting me.
In the end, I received an email that they passed on my candidacy without any specific detail. I do appreciate that there was an offer to go over feedback on a call. My main point of feedback to recruitment is to make it more about actual scenarios and examples relevant to the job. One of the questions was to pick an app and act as a product manager, which would have been more relevant for an AM to talk about a project collaboration with product that resulted from client feedback.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Pick an app and pretend you are the Product Manager what would you do and why
Long and nonsensical. They ask you to write three assignments so they can then use these as the starting points for conversations with multiple stakeholders. The hiring managers are apparently not allowed to decide on their own who can work in their team.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Stripe (Singapore) in Nov 2024

Recruiter did a great job clearly detailing next steps for the interview and helped me feel at ease. Communication was tight and after Hiring Manager interview, got back to me fairly quickly informing me that they have decided to consider other candidates for the role.

Phone screen, hiring manager interview, then written assignment. I was presented with a lengthy written assignment. The initial rejection letter specified they would not be able to offer any feedback whatsoever.
