Interview
Long, laborious and painful process with many red flags along the way. Got to the final round and didn’t get it. I read all the terrible Glassdoor reviews on the process but still wanted to give Stripe the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately I stand corrected. The process itself was as follows;
1. Phone screening with recruiter
2. Written assignment that takes 2-3 hours
3. 45 min zoom call with associate
4. 4 hour zoom call with 5 “Stripes” with different assessments
5. 45 min with hiring manager
6. 30 mins with director
After all of this and I receive a rejection email(!) to explain I wasn’t the “strongest fit”. Surely that could have been determined after round 3? At the end of the email I was offered a phone call in which I insisted on (and which is usually standard protocol?) ..A useless call giving vague feedback about “fit” ensued and honestly, I’m really left with a bad taste in my mouth about Stripe.
2 weeks later the role is back up on LinkedIn and 4 weeks later it remains there. It seems Stripe might be reaching for the stars for what is, essentially, a customer support role.

1) Basic call with a recruiter on qualifications and background
2) Written assessment solving customer inquiries and looking at how you would solve problems (took about 2 hours)
3) Video interview with team member (during covid) on problem-solving/customer inquiries
4) half-day interview with multiple assessments and teams on technical/coding questions, culture, personality and how you would solve problems

4.- Virtual on site multiple interview (4 hours)
I didn´t advance pass the 4th round.

For the practical case, you are provided with 4 days to answer 4 customer inquiries. You are provided with examples of how stripe has answer some customer inquiries in the past, but you are free to do answer what you want. You need to do some research regarding how to solve the questions.

In the interview with the peer, you are asked a hypothetical scenario:
Stripe wants to increase its support channels, their scope (geographies) and type of customers they want to provide support.
1) What support channel will you implement and how will the roll out be
2) What information will you need to know to successfully implement it
3) What would you measure to know if its succesfully

Interview
Long and laborious process- huge time commitment involved. HR recruiter was helpful and very responsive to any queries. Disheartening to go through 5 rounds of interviews and then to be told I'm not the right fit- this would have been evident after 1 or 2 interviews. Stripe demonstrated little respect for my time in this regard. Interviewers were all very friendly and reassuring- open to answering all questions I had about Stripe. Overall, the process is transparent, just too long (almost 12 hours excluding interview prep time). It demands too much time from the candidate for what is essentially a junior position in the company.
1. HR screening call (talk through experience. approx 30 mins)
2. Written Assignment (they say 3 hours but realistically took about 4.5 hours)
3. Interview with Associate on the team (45 mins)
4. Interview with Hiring Manger (45 mins)
5. Virtual Onsite (5 hours)
6. Director Interview (would have been approx 30 mins, I was eliminated after round 5)
The virtual onsite visit consisted of another interview with the hiring manager, an interview on scrappiness and culture, a technical interview, a business case and finally, an 'elevate' interview (essentially a list of hypothetical questions).
