I applied online and heard back the same day.
1. Recruiter Screen – basic questions about background, interest in Stripe, and comp expectations
2. Hiring manager video screen – Similar to above but more detailed questions about work experience
3. Case assignment – 1 week to complete – Need to submit a long-form memo (1500-3000 words) and a supporting Excel file – focus on the “why” and not just the “what” – recruiter did not give estimated time to complete but I probably took 10 hours
4. Video case debrief with hiring manager – this is standard no matter your performance on the case
5. Recruiter prep call for onsite – they will tell you the types of topics and example questions each on-site interviewer will cover
6. On-site interview – 5 interviews of 45 minute length – interviewers asked questions in line with recruiter prep – mixture of behavioral, situational, and case style questions
The whole process for me took around two months. I received word from the recruiter that I had “lots of positive feedback” a couple days after my onsite but that others were still interviewing. I ultimately received a rejection 3 weeks later.
Difficult but fair and comprehensive interview process. Only real negative is the two months of investment to be rejected in the end.
