Complete waste of time. The interview process is seven steps long. It includes a portfolio review, an app critique, a whiteboarding session, and several conversational interviews. All of these require preparation ahead of time, so if you already have a job or a family, or anything else going on in your life other than work, good luck. If that wasn't concerning enough, there is zero diversity here. In a company of thousands, that is not an accident.

Overall, the recruiting process was excellent. The recruiter was communicative, respectful, and empathetic throughout, making the experience feel transparent and candidate-friendly. One area for improvement would be the Case Study Review (third round). For my interview the one person who showed up was from the Design Systems team, and seemed a bit checked out, also quite unenthusiastic about Stripe and his own role in general. For product design roles, it would be beneficial if 2 interviewers conducted it rather than just 1. Also, that at least one interviewer came directly from the hiring team or product area. This could help ensure the discussion and evaluation are aligned with the product thinking, complexity, and problem-solving skills emphasized by the role and hiring manager—such as 0→1 product development or productizing existing capabilities—while a second designer from the broader design organization assesses design craft and process. I believe this would provide a more balanced evaluation of both role-specific and design org/culture fit.

the product design interview was very typical , wanted to know why i wanted the job, it was a call with a recruiter. they were very flexible with the interview scheduling.
