The internship interview process is quite extensive, involving 4-5 stages. It begins with a self-administered HackerRank assessment, followed by an interview with a Stripe employee focusing on HackerRank-style questions. Successful candidates then proceed to a final interview day consisting of two interviews, totaling four hours. These interviews cover basic algorithmic and string parsing problems, as well as implementation challenges. This multi-stage process seems particularly rigorous for an internship role. During one of my interviews, the interviewer, who was supposed to be pair-programming with me, remained on mute for extended periods. It appeared they were occupied with childcare or family matters, leading to significant delays in receiving answers to my questions. This made the pair-programming exercise quite challenging and negatively impacted my experience, especially having the implementation interview just right after.
