Applied online and started with a recruiter screen, just an informal chat about my background and interest in Stripe. Next was the Technical Phone Screen, a 1-hour pair-programming session with an engineer. The problem was unique - nothing like LeetCode - focused on sys design, data structures, and databases, with follow-ups testing edge cases and optimizations. The onsite had five rounds back-to-back. First was coding, a real-world problem requiring clean, efficient code. Next was behavioral with the hiring manager - standard leadership and collaboration questions. Then came the bug bash, debugging a messy codebase with minimal context - definitely practice structured troubleshooting. The system design round was open-ended, focusing on scalability and trade-offs (clarify assumptions early). Last was integration, modifying an existing codebase, heavy on API handling and REST calls. Prepped with Stripe API docs, Reddit, Blind, and mocks on Prepfully with an ex stripe coach - turned out to be super helpful. Got the offer :)
