I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Stripe in Jul 2017
Interview
- Call #1 with Stripe Recruiter - professional and simple discussion around my experience/qualifications
- Call #2 with a team member of team - discussion/questions around my experience in relation to what the team is looking for as it is being built out
- Written assignment - After submission of this assignment, I was told that Stripe did not want to move forward with my application. In my experience, written assignments are often given after an on-site interview. That said, I was very disappointed that 0 feedback was provided on the assignment I had submitted even after I requested if it could be provided. While I understand that my answers may not have been what Stripe was looking for from a candidate, my opinion of Stripe as a company was significantly diminished by the lack of feedback.
- Next steps, would have been an on-site interview if I moved on in the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. Explaining a technical topic to a broader audience
Through the use of Stripe Elements we allow merchants to build their own payment forms while still avoiding PCI requirements. Please take a crack at explaining this in more detail (in what ever format you'd like), targeting the more general audience. To be clear, the goal is to explain how it works, not to pitch the benefits.
2. Help Stripe develop a go-to market strategy for a customer segment of your choice.
In no more than 3 slides, educate us on a customer segment that you find compelling for Stripe, and help us develop a customer outreach strategy.
