I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Subway (Gastonia, NC) in Aug 2009
Interview
I heard Subway was hiring from a current employee and decided to apply. I asked for an application, which are kept behind the cash register. I filled it out in store and gave it to the manager. I was scheduled for an interview on the spot for a few days later. I wore dress pants, a nice blouse, and heels. I first interviewed with the owner and then a manager of that particular store.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Worst thing about the interview was that when I shook hands with the restaurant manager my hands were sweaty and the manager said she would not be able to hire someone with a hand disability. Are you serious? I have sweaty hands all the time so this was embarrassing for me. Questions during the interview for me were what 3 things are important to you when choosing a restaurant, Do you think you will have trouble being observed by the managers, and what kind of schedule would you like.
Easy process. Overall easy going job but low pay and can be busy at times. Created great friendships with the boss and a few co workers since most of the time there was only two people there
I interviewed at Subway (Barnsley, South West England, England)
Interview
I was sat down and asked questions about myself in a possible manner in the middle of the restaurant as people dined around me. I was then instructed to cut bread so they could see how well I could do.
Easy flow, face to face and they are quite patient with you. The manager are understanding if it's your first time and let you through the flow of the process
