I applied for a Network Recruiter job. I got an email three days later and was told that I would be a better fit for a different role. Then they asked me to submit an updated cover letter, and said they would reach out afterward to schedule an interview. I applied for the Network Recruiter role because that's what I'm interested in doing. It's one thing if they feel a different role is a better fit, but it's another when they want the person to submit a new application for that role before bringing them in for an interview. Not only is it not the position I applied for, but they wanted a brand new cover letter for that position too.
