I interviewed at Summer (New York, NY) in Sep 2020
Interview
I had a very positive experience with Better. Every member of the team was kind, welcoming and smart. John (Head of Engineering) seems like a very thoughtful and experienced leader, and Ruby (lead recruiter) was very positive and helpful. I would definitely recommend Summer to any engineer looking to work alongside great folks.

Technical screen, technical on sight, and a few behavioral rounds
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Summer in Sep 2021
Interview
Had multiple coding and behavioral interviews. One initial coding exercise than system design and algorithmic round. Also had two behavioral interviews. The whole process was very organized and all the interviewers were very professional and friendly. One of my best interviews.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Summer (New York, NY) in Jun 2020
Interview
I did a 1 hour tech screen with an engineer and then moved onto the on-site. The on-site consisted of 4 sessions, each about 1 hour. There was one technical question, one system design question, one behavioral interview with an engineer, one behavioral interview with someone from the product team.
The interview process was great, everyone I talked to was very nice and helped to remove the stress that is inherent in this process. They were very quick on turnaround and keeping the process moving.
Once they had made me an offer they were very clear about showing their interest and desire to have me join, including setting up a virtual happy hour to meet more of the team. This is a place where people both feel a passion for what they are working on and really like the people they are working with.
