I applied for the position with no reference and through the website. The questions on the online application are set up so you could fly through them pretty quickly, but I don’t suggest it. Craft your answers assuming that they need to stand out over the 15 other applicants that likely came in the same day as yours. First, I received an email from Sam, the head recruiter, which said that she wanted to set up a 30-minute phone call with me. On the call, we mostly discussed the company culture and she asked me some basic background questions. She was very friendly and accommodating throughout the entire process and even made time to talk with me while on her vacation (and I think a day before or even on New Year’s Eve.) At the end of my call with her, she asked that I complete the first challenge, which was to produce a short screen capture, voice over video promoting their product. Upon review of my submission, Sam scheduled a call between Noah Kagan, the company’s founder and CEO, and myself. This call felt like more of a screening about cultural fit as well. If you’ve seen any of his interviews, video’s or heard his new podcast you might know that he’s a big proponent of his team members not only being first in class at what they do, but also truly enjoying it. I felt like he asked a few questions to gauge this as well. While on the call Noah struck me as a good guy who was not only crafting a great business culture because it's efficient and profitable, but also because he cares about his team and wants them to look forward to coming to work. The same evening as my call with Noah, Sam emailed me and told me there was a final challenge which consisted of me conducting a full webinar, based off a deck they had used in a previous webinar. I presented it with Zain (Director of Marketing), Anton (VP of Biz Dev.), Sam (Hiring Manager) & Noah in attendance. Later that night Sam reached out to me with an offer. They move quickly and seem to appreciate if you can do the same.
