I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at SunTrust (Atlanta, GA) in Jan 2015
Interview
Depends on the needs of the location, it can take from two weeks to two months because they do extensive background check. First the screening, follow up by HR phone interview, and then one on one with the hiring manager and a buddy manager. They both have to agree on the applicant of choice before they send him/her to the Area Manager who finally makes the decision on who to hire. But if Branch Manager is good with the Area Manager, there may be no need to interview with AM, except to receive a phone call of just a necessary protocol.

Question 1
Describe your biggest contribution to your previous job?
I applied on the Truist website. I was contacted back within two weeks to interview with the branch manager. After I passed that round, I was then contacted again to sit with senior management. This was more of a conversation then a bunch of vague questions. Afterwards I was contacted by email with job offer and by phone for next steps.
2nd interview with senior management.
