      Customer Support Specialist Interview

      Dec 4, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Kyiv, Kyiv
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Superhuman (Kyiv, Kyiv)

      Interview

First interview was a video call with HR and team leader from customer support team (trust & safety). The HR was really professional, smiling, talking in friendly manner and make as much comfortable atmosphere as possible. It was really pleasant to speak to her and her questions were smart and professional. The team leader didn’t turn on her camera during the interview, didn’t make a comment, silently watching us the entire interview, except 1 of my questions that she answered in the end. It made me feel awkward. The team leader didn’t greet me, didn’t say anything except this 1 quick answer she gave in the end, instead of HR. The interview lasted 1 hour, HR asked me questions for about 55 min and then I had around 5 min to ask my own questions. The weird thing was, when I started to ask my questions, on the second one about the team - how many people, how old are they and where are they from - instead of letting me finish my questions during those 5 minutes and wait until I’m done, they immediately asked me - “Why do you ask this question?”, “Can you explain your motives why it’s important to you?”. I understand that any company thinks during the interview about their own needs to choose the right candidate, but my advice - respect that candidates have also needs to ask their questions and give them at least 5 min for that, without interrupting and pressure. The second part was written test with a time limit 1 h 30 min. Shortly, if you are not bilingual or native C2 - don’t apply. 1. First, I hardly managed to complete this test in 2 hours. Questions require time to think what are the solutions, time to type the answers and time to read long texts. 2. The provided time 1 hour and 30 minutes it’s not real for such a difficult and complex test. 3. You can’t skip questions or to see the next question in order to plan your time based on questions complexity and you can’t go back to correct or to add smth. 4. Some of the questions required from me knowledge of the company’s products in order to be specific in my answer about their internal procedures. I was not prepared for that. I got the answer within 48 hours as they promised with a general rejection mail template, no detailed explanation. They also didn’t ask me any feedback about the test. Unusual, coz normally companies are interested about the feedback, so they can improve it for the next candidates. Anyway, I still think it’s a good company to work for. Just this position requires C2 level.

      Interview

If you wonder whether to apply at Grammarly - please DO :)! The whole experience is very professional but also humane. It began when I noticed a job offer posted by a local recruiter on Facebook. I emailed her, and a quick back-and-forth resulted in me sending my CV and getting a 90-minute test to solve. After that 30-minute screening with another recruiter, there will be three separate 60-minute interviews with different team members/managers. The team involved in my recruitment process was very attentive and smiling. :) The whole process took one month, during which I learned much about Grammaraly's vision, culture, and work. The interviews were very well prepared. In the end, I asked many questions and received honest answers. Be sure to review your work history and challenges and give your best. Before each interview, you can submit your availability. I strongly recommend applying to Grammarly. This was the best recruitment process ever.
