Interview Summary:
I applied online. The next early morning, I got an email from a recruiter to schedule a phone interview. The following week I had a technical phone interview with the Engineering Manager. The next early morning, I got an email for an onsite. The schedule onsite was less than 2 weeks away. Someone who went to an onsite earlier got an offer so my onsite was cancelled.
My Thoughts:
This was by far the best interview experience I had. SurveyMonkey actually cares and treats their potential employees like people instead of numbers. My recruiter and the manager were kind and helpful. They did not throw any curveball questions and really just tried to know you through conversation instead of a Q&A. The coding exercise was not hard and they kindly walk you through it. You can tell that these people love their company and the company loves its people. The process was very timely, not rushed, not late, and they made sure to update you whenever possible.
Shoutouts to Kevin, Greg, and the SurveyMonkey team. They are the paragon of what the hiring experience should be.
