Applied online and a recruiter reached out to schedule the initial phone screen. Minutes before the phone screen, the recruiter emailed to rescheduled. When the conversation with the recruiter finally happened, it was fairly straightforward, although I found it odd that she wanted to know why I loved their product (as this wasn't a product role). The recruiter moved me on to speak with Hiring Manager. The call with the Hiring Manager was also straightforward with respect to questions, but she was not engaged in our conversation and seemed distracted. She also joined our call late and had to run to another meeting right after our scheduled time, leaving almost no time for questions.
While this was a standard interview process, it felt very disconnected from the candidate and more like a machine of pushing candidates through each gate. As the interviewee, it's difficult to learn about the company and get to know future employers, managers, and coworkers when the process is handled in this manner.
