I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SurveyMonkey (Dublin, Dublin) in Mar 2021
Interview
The process started when I applied for the role of Sales Engineer after getting a notification on Indeed.com. I got an email from the recruitment within a week and the first round of interview was scheduled a week later which was very positive. A nice person to talk with. The next round was scheduled with the hiring manager. The process started positively however things took a diabolical turn when I started to answer the questions he asked me. For every response, he would laugh. I could not interpret much what he meant. As the interview progressed, I felt he was just playing around and was not very serious. He kept laughing at my responses and now I wasn’t feeling very comfortable. I believed his demeanour was a racist. I am not from Europe. Likewise, I would like to mention that he kept saying that my experience will take much for a small product like Survey Monkey and that I would leave in less than 1 year. This again made me feel very uncomfortable. The question is that when he saw my CV why he did not disqualify me then rather interview me which was just a waste of time, energy, and effort. Now, this goes against the policies of Survey Monkey who pride themselves on diversity and having the great Serena Williams on their board of directors. What message is Survey Monkey Europe trying to say out here? I do not know. Very unfortunate. In addition, the hiring manager could not even recognise that experience is more on solution selling based on products but kept mentioning that I was from a consulting background. Very strange and something not right...

Process was initial call, second call with manager, presentation, onsite with a number of managers and potential colleagues. The presentation involved presenting the benefits of using something like SurveyMonkey vs a competitor.
