I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SweetLabs (Seattle, WA) in Feb 2016
Interview
Great conversations with intelligent, thoughtful and professional folks. I was referred by a long-time friend who has a strong working knowledge of my role and the SweetLabs culture. My first conversation was with the CTO for coffee. We really clicked and he told me on the spot he wanted me to come in and meet the team. Excellent! The next week I met folks in the office as well as some of the leadership team via video conferencing.
As others have stated, it was a conversation v. any sort of grilling. Everyone was very forthcoming in sharing - even my more difficult or more sensitive questions about the business were answered in full. The reason I rated the interview as Difficult is because we really got down to it. I've met with many companies over the years and have rarely gone as deeply into the business and culture for this type of role. It's usually kind of shiny and glossy v. a thoughtful discussion about the possibilities. In other words, I had to really think about the conversation. I like that.
One of the interviews was cut a little short so we figured another time to talk without being rushed. I really appreciate this investment. In fact, it is one of the reasons I accepted the offer.
As for the offer itself, it was quite generous - especially considering the richness of the benefits offered. All in all, a great experience. Happy to be at SweetLabs!
