We are sorry to hear about your experience through the selection process but appreciate you sharing this update so that we can explore the situation and ensure it does not recur.
We provide a robust screening process with multiple steps in order to ensure we make the right hiring decision and to allow candidates the opportunity to gather all the information they need before they decide to join us. That said, it does sound like you had a lot more interviews than we normally expect and we are glad that you brought this to our attention.
We have recently worked to streamline our hiring process so it is more concise and yet still provide sufficient opportunity for us to assess a candidate's suitability for the role and for the candidate to decide if the role is right for them.
At the time you were interviewed, our lead recruiter had just suffered the bereavement of a very close family member which was sudden and unexpected. Following that another member of her family fell very ill. We should not have let this impact your experience and for this we apologise, but we hope that you can understand that there were extenuating circumstances.
Regarding the position going on hold: this decision was not related to the recruiter's absence but due to a change in hiring requirements. We scrutinise hiring requirements carefully and regularly. As a customer centric business we very occasionally have to refocus our hiring on different roles, pausing on roles we had already started recruiting . We work hard to ensure that this does not happen but occasionally it is unavoidable. We assure you it is never our intention to waste anyone's time and we wish you every success for the future.
