I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Syndio in Jul 2021
Interview
A recruiter reached out to me, then I had an interview with the hiring manager. Was told I was a strong candidate, and before my next round the recruiters reached out to "prepare me for an offer." For round three, I had six interviews set up over the course of two days. After interview number two of six, I was called by the hiring manager and told that my experience wasn't a good fit and that I wouldn't be finishing the last four interviews. This was surprising given the positive feedback I had received to date, and the lack of questions I had been asked about my experience from my first two zoom interviews (of the six) - the interviewers really did most of the talking, "selling" the role and company. I thought a lack of relevant experience would have disqualified me at the resume review/ initial phone screen. It was very disempowering to be cut from the interview process only partway through, especially from a company that values fairness in the workplace. I felt like I wasn't given a fair shot. Otherwise, the company seems like it is building a great product and has a good culture internally.

Question 1
How do you manage delivery of a product?
Do you think it's more difficult to say no to superiors or to your reports?
Original phone screening was typical and easy going. Went over general background and what I was looking for and what I liked about Syndio. Scheduled second interview pretty quickly with a higher ranking person of product. Second interview was a disaster. I asked about structure in the company and then she immediately cut me off saying "we don't have structure yet, so im going to stop the interview here." She then went on to say she should have the job posting updated which shows a clear lack of capabilities for hiring processes and would be very worrisome as an individual working with her and career development. She then went on about using a lot of "I" language and how she has put everything in place at Syndio. I cannot recommend working for product at syndio with this clear lack of employee empathy or leadership.
