I had a positive experience interviewing with Syndio. The recruiter kept me up-to-date and was quick to respond. Everyone that I spoke to was friendly and seemed passionate about their jobs and the company's mission. I felt like our conversations went well and after each interview, I only wanted to work there more. I had a phone screen with a recruiter, an interview with a front end engineering manager, a take-home assignment, and then 4 more interviews: two with front end engineers, one with a product manager, and one with a back end engineer. A few days after that final interview, I was informed via email that they had chosen another candidate. I appreciated that Syndio posted the salary range upfront and that the recruiter went over salary in the initial phone screen. I also appreciated that there was no live coding interview; I get nervous during whiteboard interviews and tend to do poorly. The take home test was a much closer simulation of the actual work I'd do. I also liked that most employees that I interviewed with made a concerted effort to have the interviews be relaxed conversations rather than uptight and businesslike interrogations. Syndio seems like a great place to work, and I have no hard feelings even though I didn't get an offer. I do wish that they had been able to decide between myself and the other candidate before I had invested so much time into research, the take home, and the interview process. But maybe it was a really close decision and I just happened to be #2.
