I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Syndio (Chicago, IL) in Nov 2015
Interview
I had a preliminary phone interview which went great. I was invited into their office for an in-person interview about a week later. Upon arriving in River North I entered what seemed like a warehouse where the employees all sat in one giant, dark room not talking or acknowledging one another. I had to find someone to explain that I was there for an interview. The recruiter that set up my interview came over and told me that my interview was cancelled and that she had e-mailed me that morning to tell me they won't be hiring interns at all next semester anymore. I checked my e-mail and this recruiter e-mailed me 15, I repeat 15, minutes before my interview was supposed to take place. Not only was it extremely unprofessional that they did not call me to state that they could no longer afford interns, but they were rude to me after I stood blank-faced in shock that they gave me no warning and I had traveled all the way to River North. I will not make the mistake of interviewing with this company again given their unprofessional behavior. The recruiter clearly is clueless on how to treat potential hires.
