I applied for a District Manager role and the next day was sent an assessment that took about 40 minutes to complete. It was comprised of two parts: how you work and how you lead. The following day I received another email from Sysco that said, my application had advanced to the next stage and is currently under review by the hiring manager. But I was never contacted again by Sysco. I wasn't even told my resume had been rejected, just radio silence.
Basically I am flagging their hiring process as needing attention. Why would their process include ALL candidates taking a 40 minute assessment just so your resume and qualifications can be viewed and rejected by their hiring manager? Instead of putting ownership on the recruiter, Sysco puts ownership on candidates, who they are not paying to take 40 minute assessments. Maybe they could have the recruiter go through applications and decide who they want to take the assessment and go from there? Please stop wasting peoples' time.
