I was contacted via my Angelist profile with an email inviting me to fill out an online application. The application was normal enough, asking a bunch of questions about challenges you've had in past jobs, your strengths and weaknesses, why they should hire you. Weirdly enough, they sent me an acceptance email with an attached employment contract a day or so later. The contract was very poorly formatted...like a phishing email. I emailed back asking why I had been offered a job without an in-person interview. This is the response I received from their one of their head HR people: "This job was offered to you based on a review carried out on your resumes and the questionnaire you answered by the recruitment team. Are you up to the task detailed in the job description? Or you have any other questions?" I declined the offer. This experience was very unnerving.
