I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at TD (Ottawa, ON) in Dec 2014
Interview
The hiring process is as you would expect for a university student entering the retail world of banking. Hiring managers are VERY focused on how good your sales skills are and then how your personality fits into the company. They start off with "Why TD?" and "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?". You get asked situational and behavioural questions. No matter what you have done, you must be able to demonstrate that you are extroverted and able to sell simple products. TD tries to stay competitive by being sales-focused. It's not for everyone but it's also very thrilling for those who are hungry. You have to demonstrate how much you care about building and maintaining relationships as well.
