Solid and thorough interview process. I started with a face-to-face with the hiring manager, then several phone screens with senior technical directors, followed by face-to-face with senior executives. Trip to Corporate HQ as well. I was able to get a very good feel for the corporate culture, history, and DNA of the company. The entire process took one month.

Flew to CA and met two of the founders. Had a really great conversation with one and made some product recommendations for features changes which turned into a White Board discussion that lasted about an hour. Met three others for short interviews that were about 30 minutes each. I met with the CEO, HR manager, District Sales Manager, and an Engineer. There was a lot of verbal testing like how would you design this type of solution and what features are important. I also was interviewing with someone I had worked with in the past who recommended me. I honestly was not considering leaving the current job I had with a tier one storage vendor at the time but after talking with one of the founders I realized they had written extension for ZFS that solved the issue most people if not like about that file system. The general architecture was really pretty well thought out and very cool technology I wanted to play with.
