I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at TEKsystems (Burnaby, BC) in Jan 2018
Interview
I was referred to TEKsystems by a current employee. The process starts with them getting you to take an online behavioural quiz. After I had completed and submitted my quiz, I was contacted by a recruiter in Washington state who expressed a high level of interest in getting me to me meet the Director of Operations in Burnaby, BC. He even went as far to say that my results showed a close correlation with that of some of their top performers. I spent a few days preparing for an interview with the director of operations. I was told that he conducted very personal, deep, interviews. I showed up to the TEKsystems office and was greeted by two account managers. I was advised that the Director of Operations had family matters to tend to and so I was to be interviewed by the account managers instead. I found this disappointing. It's kind of like going to a sales meeting expecting to be meeting with the decision maker and instead having to meet with two people who really have zero say in the big scheme of things. The interviewers seemed inexperienced and the interview was very personal and borderline intrusive. They placed a strong emphasis on how constructive criticism has a strong presence within TEKsystems. At the end, I was told that I would be called to discuss further steps, if any, and to give me feedback. I received neither and instead got a typical email template stating that they were pursuing other candidates. I thanked the sender for her email and asked if she could provide me feedback. Never received a response which I found amazing considering the strong backing of constructive criticism that was portrayed to me during the interview.
Ultimately, I was very disappointed in the level of professionalism that TEKsystems represented themselves with. I would have much rather had the interview rescheduled for for a different time when I could have met with the Director of Operations and presented what I had to offer to him and be given the same chance that other candidates would have had. The interview had to be the worst interview I have ever been in. I strive to work for companies that hold a much higher level of professionalism and given the opportunity to interview with TEKsystems again, I would decline nor would I recommend them to anyone. Zero doubts about it. Don't interview with this company if you value your time. The whole process truly tainted a once very positive image that I had of the company.
