I was initially contacted by the HR recruiter through LinkedIn. I had a quick phone call with her that went well and she said she would be following up with the hiring manager for next steps. Almost a week went by and I hadn't heard anything so I followed up. Almost another week went by until I finally heard back and she scheduled a phone interview with the hiring manager. During the phone interview with the hiring manager, he starts swearing about something going on at his house right at the beginning of the call. It was very uncomfortable and unprofessional, but I decided to ignore the red flags and continue with the phone interview. He said I sounded like a good fit and wanted to bring me in for an in-person interview to meet the team. During the in-person interview it went well and I received positive feedback from people I met with. There was a presentation involved with the interview and I was asked to provide writing samples. About a week after the interview HR scheduled a call with me. They said based on my experience the team thought I would be better suited for the Product Delivery Analyst role. However, the HR person had no information about it and generally didn't really seem to know what to say so I asked to speak with the hiring manager again to get a better idea. It took another week to get the hiring manager on the phone to talk. The general feedback was him and the team liked me and thought I was a good candidate, but thought I would be better suited for the analyst role which was described to me as basically the same role just less pay. Then he told me he would get back to me by the end of the week for sure with the rest of the details for the analyst role, but they wanted to check and see if I was interested before formally offering it to me. The end of the week came and went and I never heard back. I followed up once more and never heard back, at which point I realized it was for the best since this company can't seem to get their act together. Moral of the story, the interview was dragged out way longer than it needed to be, HR was pretty incompetent, and my interactions with the hiring manager made me feel like I dodged a bullet by not hearing back. The total interview process took well over a month and ended with them not having the courtesy to give me a definitive answer.
