      Cashier Interview

      Dec 13, 2010
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Taco Bell in Jan 2008

      Interview

Turned in written application per instructions. I was told would not be hired because as a college graduate I was overqualified. I was just trying to find a job in this economy, and am not too proud so I went everywhere but it seems no one in fast food wants to hire. Same thing happened in other fast food, grocery store, retail type places. I finally got an office job until I found something more permanent but it is sad that people refuse to hire someone for having an education. I was willing to accept minimum wage but was given the excuse that I would expect more. They didn't even give me a chance.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

No interview. Manager looked at my application and saw that I had a college degree and told me I would not be hired due to being overqualified.

      Brighton, MA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Taco Bell (Brighton, MA) in Mar 2026

      Interview

I was scheduled do have an interview with the regional manager Israel, however when I arrived, he wasn’t there. Instead, I was interviewed by the manager of that location (unfortunately I’ve forgotten her name but she was really nice and cool). She told me about the work and about how that specific location was a fairly easy job. I was asked about my schedule, which I confirmed was open and flexible, and if I would be going on vacation this summer, which I would not be. I was told that Israel would contact me later that day to set up a proper in person interview sometime later. Over a week later I receive an email telling me that they would be hiring someone who “more closely fit their needs.” At no point in the original interview or application process was I asked about my experience, if I had I would have told them that I had over 5 years experience in retail and 2 years experience cleaning kitchens. I tried reaching out to see why I had been rejected when it seemed pretty obvious that the person in charge of hiring wasn’t doing their job properly, and unsurprisingly, I never heard back from Taco Bell.
