Contacted by a HR representative from Talen Energy encouraging me to apply. Soon after, there was a 30-minute video call discussing the position and she invited me to send samples of previous work. The representative was kind and professional. HR did not follow through with the originally communicated timeline, taking over a week to inform me of next steps. Next steps consisted of an interview with SVP. Initially scheduled as a video interview, SVP abruptly decided to have an in-person interview. In-person interview with SVP consisted of oddly personal questions presented in a condescending manner, with moderately ageist remarks. Interviewer seemed more concerned with showing me his work from a previous company than discussing changes he would like to implement at Talen. Overall, SVP seemed very disinterested in the process. Over a week after the interview, I received a generic e-mail informing me I was not selected for the position.
