Interview
The first stages of the interview process were fairly straightforward—sending my portfolio to the recruiter, a recruiter call, and a call with the hiring manager. Both the hiring manager and the recruiter were lovely and easy to interact with. The next round was two calls: one call with a VP and one call with someone from the C-suite. While I had been lightly "warned" that the C-suite individual would be tricky, I didn't assume he'd be unpleasant. Yet, I was proven wrong. Not only was he 15 minutes late ("lost track of time"), but his tone was condescending and arrogant. During our conversation he made digs at my previous employers/roles and managed to showcase clear distain for every answer I provided. While I was not shocked to receive a "not moving forward" after my conversation with him, I was surprised by how he represented a company that aligns itself with a mission of empathy.

Interview
The interview process went quickly. I interviewed with the creative director, a VP of product marketing, and the CMO, all within a week. They then asked me back for a fourth round -- and to deliver a 1-hour presentation of a 12-month marketing strategy. The reason I rate the interview difficulty as difficult is because developing the strategy and the presentation was very time consuming. They also asked me to edit a 2,000-word article and to explain my edits. In retrospect I wish I had asked for compensation for the 1-hour presentation and marketing strategy -- it was definitely on the level of a consultation.
