I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Target Australia (Sydney) in Dec 2012
Interview
If it's an interview during Christmas then it's a group interview with around 30 people and they just do group tasks and see how you work as a team, they usually hire 10 out of the 30. If you manage to land a non peak period interview then usually it's just one on one and done with the manager where they ask just standard interview questions.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Target Australia (Melbourne) in Jun 2013
Interview
I submitted an online application as well as delivered my resume in person to the store, during their yearly hiring period.
I recieved a phone call for an interview about a week later.
It was a short 1 on 1 interview with a general manger (around 30 minutes) involving standard behavioural questions, some situational questions and questions about my resume/qualifications.
The offer presented and accepted over the phone about 2 weeks later.
