Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Interviews will consist of Situation based questions
The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Wichita, KS) in Nov 2010
Interview
Initial communication consisted of a telephone interview with a few questions to determine experience, thought process and availability for one on one interview. Lasted about 30 minutes.
One on one interview was conducted at a store location that was 1 hour away with the Store Team Leader. Went through a quick round of introductory questions and then moved to 4 STAR type question (situation, actions, results). Lasted about 1 hour.
Next interview was with the actual STL of the store where I would be working and the District Team Leader. Again, intro questions, STAR scenarios and questions about goals, drives, etc. Lasted 1.5 hrs.
Interviews are not hard - just tedious with all the same questions. Do your self a favor, practice 6 scenarios of what you have encountered in your career and memorize them. Also, it works great when one or two of those start out with a failure - show you learned from it, regrouped and enhanced your skills.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you encountered a difficult co-worker and needed them to be on board to get a task accomplished.
About 30 minutes long. Ask behavioral based questions. I would strongly recommend that you come up with 5 really great past work/school situations that you are proud of and find a way to use those examples in any of your answers. Also be sure to always have a tangible outcome for every answer.
