      Sales Floor Team Member Interview

      Oct 17, 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Target in Oct 2012

      Interview

First of all, I can't stress enough that you read the reviews here on GlassDoor.com! I was asked questions that were exactly what I saw on here. A couple of weeks after I applied online, they called me to set up a phone interview. - 1st interview: The phone interview. I was asked a couple of basic questions about my past jobs, then two or three "Tell me about a time..." ones. - 2nd interview: In-person. I watched a short video about what service means at Target. Then a manager asked me two or three "What would you do..." questions. - 3rd interview: I had to take a short computer test with "What would you do..." situations and choose a response for each. READ THESE CAREFULLY. At first glance, it will look as though each question is being asked twice, but each one actually ends in "worst" or "best". After that, I met with the HR assistant and was told that I had the job if I passed the drug test and background check. She told me where to take the drug test. The day after I took it, I received an e-mail with orientation information. Overall it was very easy, though I didn't quite see the point of doing three brief interviews/meetings on three different days. What bothers me is the shortness of each meeting. I'm concerned that the managers aren't really getting a "feel" for the people they hire.
