I applied online. I interviewed at Target in Jun 2013
Interview
I first applied online, and soon received an email to schedule an interview. Like most other posts here, this interview was done at a hotel with many other potential candidates. When I entered, I filled out a sheet with my availability and was told to wait for somebody to call your name in front of a television showing Target's history and whatnot. I was called for two interviews, both assessing your personality (similar questions, all the questions asked were already described here). My third "interview" was when this guy led me to the door and said, "We will let you know via email or phone whether or not you got the job." I knew I didn't get the job at this point. I received an email about two weeks later telling me I didn't get it. However, the people were friendly enough and tried to set you at ease during the interview.
It was two interviews. The first one was a recorded interview for 15 minutes and the second interview was in person. The questions were very similar. It is common questions that they would ask for being in retail.
Was just a quick 10 minute call from the store manager, didn't take long at all. He asked if I had the availability he was looking for and if I could be punctual. Smooth process
It was overall very brief from applying to hearing back. Was just a day of meeting with a couple managers and talking through a cashier job. Nothing too out of the ordinary for a role like this.
