I applied online not expecting much, but received a phone call a week later. We set up a time for a brief phone interview the following day (simple questions - why Target, why the position, background experiences, etc.). That led to online IQ/Intelligence Tests and Skills Tests (mostly logic and data analysis tests), and a S.A.R. phone interview the next day - 4 questions. Led to a final in-person interview offer a few weeks later. The final interview is an office visit that started at 9:30am and went until 5pm with about 40 other candidates for BA positions (candidates are all in the same room, at tables of 4). The day consisted of a company overview, Minneapolis overview, position shadowing, lunch, two 1:1 30 minute interviews with senior management (with a host who will walk you around to the interview locations, aid in paperwork that needs to be filled out, and any additional questions), a building tour, and a wine & cheese reception to cap the day. If you are from out of town, the following morning you have the option to attend a 2 bus hour tour of the city to inform you further about Minneapolis. Overall, it is an excellent, very organized and detailed interview process. Helpful Pointers: 1.) Do your research - Know the company inside and out ... there are many opportunities to stand out within the day in casual social settings, and if you prepare well, you'll feel more confident through the day and it's a great way to impress even more that you spent the time to know everything about the company. 2.) Adding to that point, know the culture of the company - Target has a very distinct style and vibe, know it going in. If it's a fit with your personal style, you can really emphasize that throughout the day. 3.) Look the part - This should be a given, but definitely dress up and in style. More so that other places, I feel Target places an emphasis on appearance. It's a young workforce, and they want stylish, well-groomed individuals. Spend the extra money to get that suit to look like a million dollars on you. And just a style tip I've noticed - don't go to an interview in a black suit, your not going to a funeral. 4.) Act the part - Be talkative, friendly, outgoing, courteous, and have proper manners. As I mentioned before, there are many opportunities within the day to speak-up, ask questions, and show that you want the job. You're interviewing with a handful of other people, so do your best to be remembered. 5.) The interview is really 3 ways - It's about Target learning and connecting with you, as well as you learning and connecting with Target. And additionally, with so many other interviewees, you have a chance to connect and learn more about them.
