Interview
Week 1:
Thursday: Job was posted for a part time pharmacy technician at a low volume store, board certification was not required.
Friday: I applied for the position via their website and but never received a confirmation email that my application had been received.
Monday: I called to confirm that they had received my application and asked if the HR rep had some time to meet with me. She did a quick review of my application, noted that I was PTCB certified, and asked if she could call me back on Tuesday since she was on her way out of the office.
Tuesday: I received a call back later in the afternoon for a quick phone interview where she asked some questions about why I wanted to switch from my current job (mail order pharmacy) to Target. She then went over compensation and stressed that they were looking for someone with a flexible schedule who would be willing to cross-train throughout other departments and help out when needed. I was pretty disappointed at the pay-rate and without thinking broke the number one rule during any interview: discussing salary. I explained that I was still highly interested and willing to negotiate but that I felt the amount being offered was below average for a certified technician. Thankfully there was no change in her friendliness and she still asked me to come in first thing Wednesday morning for an in-person interview while stating that if an offer was made they would take that concern to the pharmacy district manager.
Wednesday: I showed up at 8:15am to take the computer assessment which asked basic multiple choice questions that seemed to be testing your attitude in the work place and how you will interact with your coworkers if there is any conflict. Afterwards I was taken back for a 2:1 interview with the Pharmacy Manager and an executive team lead. The etl lead the interview and explained the way they would like the questions answered. “Describe the situation or task. Describe the action you took. What were the results?” She stressed to be as specific as possible. Beyond that it was your typical interview questions with a few interjected questions from the pharmacist. I had a written list of questions prepared to ask both the pharmacist and the manager and I made sure that they didn’t sound too formal or scripted. After I was finished with my questions I was asked to wait for a second interview with the store manager. The interview with him was 1:1 and surprisingly more laid back. He asked a few of the same questions and combined with my own questions for him it became more of a conversation and less of a formal interview. When we were finished he let me know that they would be making their decision by the end of the week/early the following week. Before I left the store I stopped by the pharmacy to ask some more questions and chat with the Pharmacy Manager. I felt that we got along really well and she gave me her contact information if I thought of anymore questions.
Friday: I wrote an email to the pharmacist thanking her for her time and subtly reinforcing my interest and my qualifications.
Week 2:
Monday: I received a very positive reply from the Pharmacist in addition to an update with the interview process. They had received more interest than expected and the decision had been pushed to later this week or early next week.
Saturday: Received another call from the hiring manager who stated I was one of the final candidates for consideration and was asked to come in on Monday to follow-up with a few more questions.
Week 3:
Monday: I was greeted by another hiring manager and taken back into a little office. She asked me if my availability was still open and if I would still be interested with training in other departments. She also asked me a few questions about my tech certification before telling me they wanted to offer me the position contingent on a drug test and background check. I was incredibly nervous about the salary negotiation but when she made the offer it was not only higher than the original amount and company average, it was higher than what I was going to negotiate for.
Interview questions [5]
Question 1
Computer assessment: You are in the break room and overhear your coworkers talking about an employee who was fired for stealing. What do you say?”
Computer assessment: You are working on the floor and it is time to take your scheduled lunch. Your coworker Kyle has been tasked to provide coverage for you but when you try to leave he says that he is taking his lunch at that time and cannot do it. Your shift started earlier than his and you know it is not his scheduled time, what do you do?
The interview process was quick and easy to do. They were friendly, and I was able to ask questions that I had and was able to see the work environment after the interview.

Interview
They were professional and courteous, but I felt it wasn't right.
Overall good experience, although I recommend their punctuality to their own interview as they were 15 minutes behind schedule.
