I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Target (South Setauket, NY) in May 2011
Interview
Very tough for a menial low skill position, although this likely filtered out some "undesireables" and improved the work environment in the long run. Waited about an hour before the interview started. Interviewed with a floor manager and asked typical behavioral questions, then waited another half hour and interviewed with a general manager that asked the same questions. Had to pass a urine drug test.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you acted as a leader. (for a cashier position?? lol)
It was two interviews. The first one was a recorded interview for 15 minutes and the second interview was in person. The questions were very similar. It is common questions that they would ask for being in retail.
Was just a quick 10 minute call from the store manager, didn't take long at all. He asked if I had the availability he was looking for and if I could be punctual. Smooth process
It was overall very brief from applying to hearing back. Was just a day of meeting with a couple managers and talking through a cashier job. Nothing too out of the ordinary for a role like this.
