I applied in-person. I interviewed at Target (Clackamas, OR) in Nov 2015
Interview
My interview was somewhat unusual. I was a walk in and met with the head HR person. During the interview he didn't ask those typical questions such as "How do you think you'll benefit this store?" Or "Why do you want this job?". Mainly, we went over what was expected, how long the job last, because it's seasonal, and signed consent papers. At the end however, he mentioned that he had three important questions as listed below. If you are hired for a seasonal position, you have an allotted amount of time to prove that you deserve and are worthy to stay in your position. To prove that, you must show that you are dependable, hardworking, and enthusiastic about your job (the questions listed below). At the end of the interview I was hired on the spot and was scheduled for orientation the next day. My overall experience was positive and quick.
It was two interviews. The first one was a recorded interview for 15 minutes and the second interview was in person. The questions were very similar. It is common questions that they would ask for being in retail.
Was just a quick 10 minute call from the store manager, didn't take long at all. He asked if I had the availability he was looking for and if I could be punctual. Smooth process
It was overall very brief from applying to hearing back. Was just a day of meeting with a couple managers and talking through a cashier job. Nothing too out of the ordinary for a role like this.
