      Sales Floor Team Member Interview

      Apr 11, 2011
      Anonymous employee
      Portland, OR
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Target (Portland, OR) in Oct 2010

      Interview

I completed an application on-line for multiple stores in the area, and was contacted by phone within a week to schedule a one-on-one interview during which the HR rep asked me questions about my experience and the hours I was available to work. I went into the business office at the store location for the interview at the appointed time and had to fill out additional forms as well as complete several on-line forms at the store's kiosk prior to my actual one-on-one interviews. My first interview was with the team lead. We reviewed my resume and experience and I answered multiple personality test questions verbally while he recorded my responses. Once this was completed, I was sent out to the business office to wait for an interview with the executive team lead. During this interview we again reviewed my resume and experience and I answered a similar set of behavioral/personality test questions while he recorded my responses. Once the second interview was completed, the executive team lead thanked me for my time and indicated that someone would be contacting me to discuss next steps if they decided to make an offer of employment. Less than 3 hours later, I received a call from the HR representative who wanted to make an appointment for me to come in and review an offer letter, and, if accepted, to be prepared to schedule training at that time for a future orientation session. I reviewed and accepted the offer of employment and scheduled and attended new employee orientation during the next week, starting my on the floor training in the next scheduled work week following the Saturday orientation session.
