I filled out a pretty basic online application along with a cover letter. By the next day, I was contacted via email to set up a 30 minute phone screening. The phone screening went great although the person who was interviewing me was talking quite fast and seemed like she was trying to get through the interview to move onto the next one. A few days later I was contacted via email to set up a time to take an online 30-minute assessment, which would test me in grammar, problem solving, research capabilities, and writing skills. I joined a Google Hangout and a person gave me an overview of the test and I had to share my screen to show that I wasn't cheating. This is the part I was annoyed with at the whole process. They said I would have 30 minutes to finish the assessment but there was no indication of how long the test was or how much progress I was making in the test. I spent time double checking my answers to make sure they were correct only to realize that when I got to the last page I only had 3 minutes left. If I had known the number of questions or had an indication if I was 50% done, etc. I would have finished because the test wasn't difficult, but I was making sure my answers were complete and thorough. I was pretty disappointed about this because if I had spent less time at the beginning, I would've finished and done well. On top of that, the test was checking my grammar skills but the test itself was riddled with numerous grammar errors that were also distracting. Oh well, right? Needless to say, I didn't get to advance to the next round. Despite being bummed I didn't get to move on in the interview process, during my research about the company and the job itself I realized that TaskRabbit's customer service apparently sucks. So maybe I dodged a bullet!
