Once I shared that I had been a victim of retaliation after whistleblowing at my last job they chose not to move forward with the process after the first interview despite the facts that I'm a highly qualified candidate for this role and she's the one who sought me out. My interview was textbook with no flaws as I have all the experience and skills they're looking for (hence her inviting me to apply,) so them being wary of whistleblowing is the very clear reason why they changed their mind about me as a candidate. This is concerning considering tax debt relief is as highly regulated and sensitive as the nonprofit compensation work I was wrongfully fired from. Steer clear.
