Interview
Absolutely terrible interview experience. This job is an entry level "sales" role, in which there is no selling at all, mainly data entry for at least a year and a half. I interviewed with two separate individuals. The first interviewer began by grilling me with questions about the background of the company. When I was unable to give this person the exact answer they were looking for, they began to rip into everything about me. Saying things like "I'm not surprised, no one in your generation does any research anyways" and "be humble" when I did not know what the company did to a tee.
After this, I was asked to solve a relatively complex mental math problem which had absolutely NOTHING to do with the day-to-day of the position. Finally, this portion of the interview was concluded by the interviewer mocking just about everything on my resume.
What through me off the most was that all I have ever heard about Tech Data is how great the culture was in the workplace. The experience I had was clearly the opposite, and not something I would want to be a part of for the long run.
To follow all of this up, when I was able to ask the interviewer what they enjoyed most about working for Tech Data, they responded with the following: "A.) Money B.) Money and C.)....uhhh Money.
After this part of the interview was over, I was taken upstairs for some light shadowing of what the job entails. It is a simple data entry role, nothing special. But I do feel the job title does not accurately describe what you are getting into.
The interview process involves two Sale Managers asking questions, I guess to determine which sale region you fit in most, smb ,var or retail. Then they proceed to show you around the company like Sale area ,the team for the region and then have you still someone to show you what they do with placing orders or quotes.

Interview
The process begins with a practical assessment where they give you a demo of their order management system, then provide you an order to walk through. You're free to ask clarifying questions. Then you move into a group interview with managers across multiple regions who all ask fairly straightforward interview questions. They do let you know that the company covers the entire USA and so the shift can be from 11 AM EST to 8 PM EST, however you don't actually get to know where until you place on a team after training.
Applied, had to do a weird automated initial interview with a computer AI. Called in to follow up on my resume. Had an in person interview with two managers. They walked me up stairs and had me sit down with a different person and process orders. Heard back two weeks later that I got the job.
